My Fans

This page is dedicated to those who love and support me in CrAzY ways.  It was inspired by my adorable nephew Max.

On Friday 2/10, one day after my first chemo treatment, Max participated in an all-kids Race for the Cure.  He wanted to honor his Aunt Nikki who recently lost her battle, and cheer on his Aunt Amy.
I love you buddy and can't wait to see you again when you come to Indiana.

After my second chemo treatment Nikki brought me home and we had some fun with my wigs and scarves.

And this beautiful lady is my Mom

Shannon made a funky FAN gesture when she created this awesome mix tape.  I love it!

A week after I shaved my head my friend and co-worker Diann did the same! She said she had always wondered what it would be like to be bald and decided to just go for it to show her support for me. She loves it so much she plans to keep it! Hummm... I can't say the same for myself, but I sure am honored.

On April 21st my friend Sheila ran the Central Indiana Race For The Cure and dedicated it to ME. Prior to the race she made some special jewelry and distributed it to friends in several different states.

To the right are the ones she sent for me and my daughters.

In May a few of those friends and I got together for a girls night out when Jackie came to visit.  Stacy is showing her muscle below in her fight against breast cancer!  Everyone loves my "Cancer Sucks" pin.  Nikki gave it to me and it matches the hat Laura picked out for me perfectly!

Billie, Nikki, and Leah are wearing PINK for me! They added a stripe to their hair and said they plans to wear it until I get my hair back. Even if they don't keep it that long, I still think it is an awesome show of love and support.
Billie spent days and several products trying to get the stain off her fingers. :-)
Leah was called out for not meeting the school dress code.  After telling them why she did it they let her keep it, as long as she folded it into her hair during school hours.

Jackie tried several times to make me a hat but finally had to enlist help from her neighbor. LOL
Thanks for trying Jackie, and thanks for the nice hat Jackie's neighbor!

She didn't give up though.  Check out this beautiful lap quilt she made all by herself!!  I took it with me to my 7th chemo treatment and it brightened up the room.  {{Big Hugs}} to Jackie.

A sweet reminder from Sam that I'm on so many people's minds.
Remember all the people you have crossed paths with in your life.  If you ever think they don't care about you and that you don't have many friends, think again.  I've been able to see how many people care about me through this.  I hope my friends will recognize that they too are loved.  I don't want them to have to go through something like this to have it proven to them.

My good friend Brad and his family have been raising money for the American Cancer Society for many years now.  This year he mentioned me in his fund raising letter!  It was an honor to be a part of what he and his family are doing.  As you can see in this letter, his goal was to raise $4,000 this year and HE DID IT !!

This is Ava.  She and I don't know one another but I still consider her a fan.  Without prompting from anyone, she decided to stand up for something she believes in --- Finding a Cure for Cancer!
On behalf of all survivors, "Thank you Ava, for you sweat and powerful action".  I would LOVE to be part of your club.

  2. Oh my gosh, Amy. I looked at the pictures of your mom (without reading your comment about who is is) and thought, "Gosh, Amy looks like her mom!" I just don't recognize her so thin. She looks great! Jo
